Google suspended our profile and denied the appeal

A suspension arrives without explanation, removes you from the map immediately, and there is nobody to ring. Here is how to approach it.

Work out what triggered it

Google rarely tells you, so you have to audit. The usual causes are a short list.

Keywords in the business name is the most common by a distance. If your name on the profile reads as your registered name plus your service plus your city, that is a violation even if it has sat there for years.

Address problems come next. Virtual offices, mailbox addresses, coworking desks, or an address that cannot be verified.

Then category mismatches, a sudden edit to name or address or category, and reports from competitors, which do happen.

Fix it before appealing

This is the step people skip, and it is why appeals get denied repeatedly.

An appeal is a request to be reassessed. If nothing has changed since the suspension, reassessment produces the same conclusion. Correct the violation first, then appeal.

If the name had keywords, change it to the registered name. If the address is a virtual office, change it to somewhere you actually operate, or convert to a service-area business.

Appeal once, with documents

Submit business registration in the exact name on the profile, proof of the address such as a lease or utility bill, insurance, and photographs of signage, premises or branded vehicles.

Write plainly what the business is, where it operates, and what you have corrected. Do not argue about fairness. The reviewer is establishing whether this is a real business operating as described, and nothing else.

What not to do

Do not create a new profile. Duplicates make reinstatement harder and can extend the problem to any related listing.

Do not submit repeated appeals in quick succession without changing anything.

Do not pay anyone promising guaranteed reinstatement. Nobody has that access.

While you are suspended

Your website is now doing all the work, so make sure it is carrying its weight and that your details are consistent everywhere else.

This is also the moment that makes the case for not having everything depend on one platform. It is the same lesson as not building your business inside an account you do not own.

Common questions

Why was my Google Business Profile suspended?

Common triggers are keywords added to the business name, an address that cannot be verified or is a virtual office, a category that does not match the business, sudden edits to core details, or a report from a competitor. Google does not usually say which.

How do I get a suspended Google Business Profile reinstated?

Fix the underlying violation before appealing, then appeal once with documentary evidence that the business is real and operates as described. Appealing without changing anything is the most common reason appeals fail repeatedly.

What evidence helps a reinstatement appeal?

Business registration in the exact name, a utility bill or lease at the address, insurance documents, photos of signage and premises, and vehicle branding for a service business. Documents that tie the legal entity to the physical location carry the most weight.

Can I talk to a person at Google about a suspension?

There is no reliable direct line for this. The realistic routes are the appeal process and the Google Business Profile community forums, where product experts can sometimes escalate cases that are genuinely wrong.
