You, Me and R&B was launching a nightlife event. Promotion for a night that has not happened yet has nothing real to film, so we made something.
Selling a first event is the hardest version of the job. There is no crowd to shoot, no footage from last time, and nothing to prove the night will be worth turning up to. Most promoters settle for a graphic.
We shot it as a production instead. A full day, with our own cast and models, building the scenes the night was promising rather than documenting one that had already happened. The elevator sequence carries the R&B tone the whole event was trading on.
That is what a creative growth collective means in practice. If a shoot needs a cast, extras or a location, we bring them. The client does not have to source people.
