Street interviews

Yeg Moments

The questions a city argues about

Yeg Moments needed a steady supply of the one format Edmonton reliably stops for: someone on the street answering a question everybody has an opinion on.

Street interviews look easy and are not. The format lives or dies on the question and on whether the person asking can get a stranger to say something worth hearing, which is a skill and a time cost most pages cannot carry weekly.

We were brought in to run them. Rent in Edmonton, the nightlife, the dating scene: the questions people already argue about, asked in a way that gets a real answer instead of a polite one.

Shot on iPhone, on purpose, because the format is supposed to look like it was. We ran the interviews and handed over the footage; their team cut it.
